Let’s go back to 2014 when our founder, November, was working for an educational publishing company. A promotion brought more responsibilities but also distanced her from her loved ones. Shifting her life to LA was no small feat, especially for her son. The turning point was when he chose to stay in Atlanta, a decision that shook her to the core. It was her wake-up call, a realization that her priorities weren't in tune with her heart and purpose. This moment sparked a profound change.

Then, something beautiful happened. November chanced upon a small meditation studio near her apartment and walked in.

From that instant, she began dedicating precious moments to personal growth. This marked a pivotal turning point. Her daily routine included lighting a candle, uttering prayers, affirmations, and basking in divine whispers during quiet moments.

When her beloved meditation candle was discontinued, she decided to make her own. Friends loved the aroma and started asking for their own. Tentative yet curious, she began crafting candles and even ventured into body oils and scrubs. The game-changer came when someone requested a custom perfume. This seemingly small inquiry led to our very first signature scent. The response was beyond her wildest expectations, revealing the potent strength of her talents.

November Nichols

An educator and self taught perfumer, with an eye for design and a passion for creating unforgettable experiences through fragrance based in Atlanta, Georgia.

I'm kind of obsessed with creating intentional custom fragrances that leave a lasting impression.

As one of the few black perfumers in the industry, she has not only left an indelible mark on the fragrance landscape but has also established Chémin as one of the leading black-owned and operated indie fragrance houses worldwide. With accolades from renowned publications such as Vogue, NY Magazine, and Modern Luxury, November's passion for scent creation has captured the attention of fragrance enthusiasts worldwide.
